So many incredible musicians on one night!
Lefty Righty trades away hard won competence for a world of possibilities. Tenzin Chopak (bass and percussion) and Nate Silas Richardson (pedal steel guitar), both seasoned professionals in other contexts, bring new-to-them tools to bear in support of primary songwriter Pierce Walsh, with all three operating just outside their respective comfort zones and on the edge of their abilities. Expect a set of contemplative, sensual, original songs, a choice cover or two, three part harmonies a plenty, and an unfolding process of alchemical discovery.
Jiamie Pyles' foundational love of old time, bluegrass, and old school country music has its roots in the Virginia foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Upon moving to Ithaca in 1997 and living in the area on and off for the next ten years that love turned into an opportunity to learn from local Ithaca musicians, play in bands, and eventually culminated into an album of original songs entitled Rock a Bye. These days Jiamie is more focused on earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Mary Washington and applying to grad school than playing gigs so returning to Ithaca to play music with old friends will be a welcome adventure this summer!
They will play a few sets separately and together.
